1. Introduction

Welcome to The Soothing Oddity. These Terms and Conditions govern your use of our website at thesoothingoddity.com and your purchase of products from us. By accessing our website and placing an order, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use our website.

We are a UK-based wellness brand trading through Shopify and AW Dropship. Our registered business address is in Sheffield, UK. All orders are subject to availability and confirmation of the order price.

2. Orders and Contract Formation

When you place an order on our website, you will receive an order confirmation email acknowledging that we have received your order. This email does not constitute acceptance of your order.

A contract between you and The Soothing Oddity is formed only when we dispatch the products to you and send you a dispatch confirmation email. We reserve the right to refuse any order at our discretion, including where products are unavailable, there is an error in the pricing or description, or we are unable to obtain authorisation for your payment.

All orders are subject to product availability. In the unlikely event that an item is out of stock after you have placed your order, we will contact you as soon as possible to offer an alternative, a refund, or a store credit.

3. Pricing and Payment

All prices displayed on our website are in British Pounds Sterling (GBP) and include UK VAT where applicable. Prices are subject to change without notice, but any changes will not affect orders for which you have already received a dispatch confirmation.

We accept payment via all major credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and PayPal, processed securely through Shopify Payments and Stripe. Payment is taken at the time of order placement.

All payment transactions are encrypted using SSL technology. We do not store your full payment card details on our servers. If your payment is declined, your order will not be processed, and we will notify you by email.

4. Shipping and Delivery

We offer free UK standard shipping on all orders over £30. Orders under £30 incur a flat shipping fee of £3.95. We dispatch from Sheffield, UK, via Royal Mail and trusted courier partners.

Standard delivery typically takes 2-5 working days within mainland UK. Northern Ireland, Scottish Highlands, and remote areas may take 3-7 working days. We aim to dispatch all orders within 1-2 working days of order confirmation.

Delivery times are estimates and commence from the date of dispatch, not the date of order. We are not responsible for delays caused by postal services, customs, or circumstances beyond our control. Risk of loss and title for products pass to you upon delivery to the carrier. You are responsible for providing an accurate and complete delivery address. We are not liable for non-delivery due to an incorrect address provided by you.

5. Returns and Refunds

Under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015, you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving your products, for any reason, and receive a full refund.

To initiate a return, please contact us at hello@thesoothingoddity.com with your order number and reason for return. We will provide you with a return authorisation and instructions. Items must be returned unused, in their original packaging, and in a resalable condition.

Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer unless the product is faulty, damaged, or incorrectly sent. In those cases, we will cover the return shipping cost and offer a full refund or replacement at your preference.

Refunds will be processed within 14 days of us receiving the returned item, using the original payment method. Please note that it may take an additional 3-5 business days for the refund to appear in your account, depending on your bank or card issuer.

For hygiene reasons, we cannot accept returns on products that have been used, opened, or where the seal has been broken, unless the product is faulty. Gift cards and personalised items are non-refundable.

6. Product Descriptions and Quality

We make every effort to display our products as accurately as possible, including colours, textures, and sizes. However, as our products are handmade using natural ingredients, slight variations in colour, scent, and appearance are normal and do not constitute a defect.

All our candles, soaps, and mists are made with natural ingredients including soy wax, essential oils, shea butter, and botanical extracts. We do not use synthetic fragrances or harsh chemicals. Due to the natural composition of our products, scent strength and burn characteristics may vary slightly between batches.

Our product descriptions, including burn times and scent notes, are estimates based on typical use under normal conditions. Actual results may vary depending on environmental factors such as room temperature, humidity, and air circulation.

7. Safety and Usage Instructions

All our products come with safety and usage instructions on the packaging. It is your responsibility to read and follow these instructions carefully.

The Soothing Oddity is not liable for any injury, damage, or loss resulting from failure to follow product safety instructions or misuse of our products.

8. Intellectual Property

All content on this website, including text, images, graphics, logos, product names, and the Gentle Creature mascot, is the property of The Soothing Oddity and is protected by UK and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works from, or commercially exploit any content from our website without our prior written consent. You may view and print pages from our website for your personal, non-commercial use only.

9. Privacy and Data Protection

We are committed to protecting your personal data. Any information you provide to us is used solely for the purpose of processing your orders, communicating with you, and improving our services. We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
